LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2, 2026 — Holiday demand for employee and corporate gifts is heavily concentrated toward the end of the year, but custom apparel suppliers are urging businesses to place orders weeks before the demand peak, highlighting a growing planning gap between when companies shop for holiday gifts and when garments must enter production.
Plucky Reach, a Los Angeles clothing manufacturer and fashion consultancy, said its latest U.S. search-data analysis shows estimated searches for “Christmas gifts for employees” reached 22,200 in December 2025, up from 14,800 in November and 5,400 in October. November and December together represented 77.6% of the 47,710 estimated searches recorded over the 12 months from September 2025 through August 2026.
The pattern extends across related gift-search terms. “Employee holiday gifts” reached an estimated 8,100 searches in December 2025, while “corporate holiday gifts” peaked at 3,600 searches in November. Search interest then dropped sharply in January 2026, indicating that corporate holiday-gifting demand is strongly seasonal.
For the 2026 holiday season, the timing challenge is particularly relevant for custom apparel. Plucky Reach’s planning scenarios, based on U.S. Postal Service holiday shipping guidance, put the order deadline at Oct. 28 for a six-week custom cut-and-sew run and Nov. 18 for a three-week run. Where garments must be individually kitted for employees, the recommended dates move forward to Oct. 21 and Nov. 11, respectively.
The figures point to a key characteristic of the holiday corporate-apparel market: consumer and corporate interest may peak in November and December, while apparel production decisions need to be completed much earlier.
Plucky Reach said its dates include time for final proof approval, production scheduling and, for kitted orders, additional packing before shipment. It also noted that printed stock garments generally require one to two weeks, while embroidered stock garments take about two to three weeks.
“Last year, searches for employee gifts peaked in December, but the decisions behind a custom garment have to be made weeks earlier,” said Abby Perez, founder and CEO of Plucky Reach.
For the Textile, Clothing and Footwear industry, the 2026 data underscores the importance of earlier holiday order planning, particularly for customized corporate merchandise where design approval, sizing, quantities, production and individual fulfillment can extend the lead time well beyond the point at which gifting demand reaches its peak.
The Plucky Reach analysis is based on Google Ads monthly search-volume estimates for the U.S. English-language market, retrieved Oct. 1, 2026, covering September 2025 through August 2026.
