TCF POST Report
The 2027 CEP Young Designers programme has launched in Cheltenham, UK, bringing students into a hands-on fashion design project focused on sustainability and renewal.
The programme opened with a workshop led by designers from Superdry and hosted by HSL. The initiative is organised through the Cheltenham Educational Partnership (CEP), which brings together the city’s secondary schools.
This year’s theme, “From Forgotten to Flourishing – Transforming Fashion Through Sustainability and Renewal,” will challenge students to explore how fashion can be redesigned through sustainable practices and renewal.
Balcarras School has entered three teams, reflecting the strength of its Design & Technology Textiles programme. During the winter, participating students will attend a series of workshops hosted by different schools, covering different stages of the design process.
The programme will conclude with a showcase next summer, when participating teams will present their completed designs on a catwalk.
Superdry’s designers also provided garments as starting materials for the project, while sharing professional insights into putting sustainability at the centre of fashion design.
