The garment-dyed cotton brand signals a stronger push into music-led global promotion

TCF POST Report

MONTREAL, 3 November 2026 -- Comfort Colors®, the high-quality ring-spun cotton apparel brand owned by Gildan Activewear, is the primary apparel provider supporting merchandise for Bruno Mars’ The Romantic Tour, in a partnership the company says will expand the brand’s global exposure through live music.

The arrangement was made through Gildan and Merch Traffic, Mars’ exclusive merchandise rights holder. Comfort Colors® is a cornerstone of the tour’s global merchandise program, and its 1717 Heavyweight Adult Tee is a featured product. The brand projects that it will support more than 1 million tour merchandise units over the tour’s duration. Gildan describes the program as one of the largest artist merchandise programs the brand has participated in.

A tour built on record demand

The Romantic Tour is Mars’ first full headlining run in nearly a decade. It sold 2.1 million tickets in a single day, setting a Live Nation single-day record and a new Ticketmaster record. The tour includes more than 86 dates across North America, Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Comfort Colors® will support the tour through the end of 2026 and on its Australia and New Zealand dates in 2027.

Merchandise as a brand channel

Gildan said the partnership reflects its strategy of linking the brand with culture and fan experiences. “Bruno Mars has an incredible ability to bring people together through music, style and unforgettable moments, and we’re thrilled to be part of that experience,” said Chuck Ward, Gildan’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. He added that the tour’s scale allows Comfort Colors® to show up where music, culture and personal style come together.

The company noted that its garment-dyed, lived-in styles make a natural canvas for merchandise designed to last beyond the event. Fans can also find the brand’s styles at comfortcolors.com and on its Amazon storefront.

Non-conventional advertising for the apparel trade

For the textile and clothing industry, the deal shows how basics manufacturers are seeking visibility through artist merchandise supply, working alongside rights-holding merchandise specialists rather than relying only on conventional advertising. A projected volume above 1 million units also demonstrates capacity for future music and entertainment programs.

Comfort Colors® is marking its 50th year. Gildan describes itself as a vertically integrated manufacturer with large-scale facilities primarily in Central America, the Caribbean, North America and Bangladesh. The company did not say where the tour merchandise will be produced, and financial terms were not disclosed. The 1 million-unit figure is a projection, not a confirmed sales total.
