Apparel, Footwear, and Fashion
The company’s diverse brand portfolio—including Steve Madden, Kurt Geiger London, Dolce Vita, Betsey Johnson, Carvela, Blondo, and ATM—showed strong traction across distinct distribution channels:
- Wholesale Business: Revenue reached $407.5 million, a 13.0% increase year-over-year. Wholesale accessories and apparel led the charge with a 19.2% increase, while wholesale footwear grew by 9.0%. Gross margins in this segment expanded due to higher average selling prices, lower private label penetration, and a smaller negative impact from tariffs.
- Direct-to-Consumer (DTC): Revenue surged 30.6% to $255.4 million. Excluding Kurt Geiger, DTC revenue grew 11.1%. The segment’s gross margin expanded to 64.0% (up from 58.7% in Q2 2025), driven by higher average selling prices, reduced promotional activity, and lower tariff headwinds.
- Retail Footprint: The company operated 382 brick-and-mortar retail stores (including 92 outlets), alongside eight e-commerce websites and 164 international concessions at the end of the quarter.
Business & Market Dynamics
Navigating evolving retail trends, Steve Madden successfully countered margin pressures through strategic pricing and reduced promotional dependency. Furthermore, the company bolstered its leadership expertise to address modern market complexities by appointing retail veteran Ken Pilot to its Board of Directors. Pilot brings over 30 years of experience with major brands like Gap Inc., J.Crew, and Ralph Lauren, alongside deep expertise in artificial intelligence, e-commerce infrastructure, and retail tech platforms.
Fiscal 2026 Outlook
