Mainland loungewear specialist uses Greater Bay Area expo to launch cross-border expansion plans

TCF POST Report
XINGZISHAN, a mainland Chinese brand specializing in functional children’s loungewear, made its Hong Kong and Macau market debut at the Eugene BB Expo, marking the start of an overseas expansion strategy anchored in the Greater Bay Area.
The company, which develops seamless, skin-friendly base layers with anti-allergy and quick-dry properties, positioned itself as one of the few mainland-originated children’s base-layer brands to appear at the expo, an event historically dominated by overseas and Hong Kong maternity labels.
Targeting a Climate-Specific Niche
XINGZISHAN’s product line is built around problems common to Hong Kong’s subtropical climate: excessive sweating, sensitive skin, and sharp temperature swings between day and night. Founder Zhang Yangzhi said the brand’s fabric technology and tailoring are designed to give children a base layer that supports “unrestrained childhood” while reducing the daily burden on parents of choosing appropriate clothing.
Visitors to the booth — including expectant mothers, local parents, cross-border families and maternity retail buyers — pointed to the brand’s sweat-wicking, non-chafing seamless fabric as well suited to Hong Kong’s humid conditions and children’s activity levels. The company also cited demand from fathers seeking apparel that combines design appeal with reliable quality.
Design Positioning
The brand has distanced itself from the heavy, ornate prints typical of traditional Chinese children’s wear, instead combining motifs such as ginkgo leaves, wheat ears and cloud patterns with the cleaner silhouettes and muted, low-saturation tones associated with Western minimalist design.
Expansion Strategy
XINGZISHAN is using Hong Kong as what it calls a strategic bridge between mainland manufacturing and international markets, aiming to build direct supply-chain relationships with regional maternity retail chains and procurement networks. The company said it intends to expand next into Southeast Asia, following its Hong Kong and Macau rollout.
