TCF POST Report

LOS ANGELES — Pacsun is partnering with L/AB c/o Off-White™, the experimental label within the Off-White™ universe, as the youth-focused specialty retailer becomes a new retail partner for the emerging brand. The partnership is part of Bluestar Alliance’s broader strategy to expand and reposition its fashion portfolio through selective retail partnerships, branded experiences and new consumer touchpoints. L/AB c/o Off-White™ launched this summer as a creative platform built around experimentation, customization and youth culture.

For Pacsun, the collaboration strengthens its strategy of bringing emerging and culture-driven labels to its predominantly young consumer base. The partnership also gives L/AB c/o Off-White™ access to Pacsun’s retail network and digital platform as the label builds its market presence.

“L/AB c/o Off-White™ is an incredible addition to the Pacsun assortment,” said Richard Cox, chief merchandising officer at Pacsun. He said the label translates Off-White™’s established design codes into a more approachable, everyday proposition while retaining its creative and cultural edge.

Bluestar Alliance at the center of expansion

The partnership also highlights the growing role of Bluestar Alliance in developing Off-White™ beyond its traditional luxury-fashion positioning. Founded in 2007 by Joseph Gabbay and Ralph Gindi, Bluestar Alliance describes itself as a global brand-management company with a portfolio generating more than $13 billion in global retail sales. Its portfolio spans fashion, lifestyle and consumer brands including Off-White™, Palm Angels®, Dickies®, Scotch & Soda®, Hurley®, Justice®, Bebe®, Tahari® and Brookstone®.

The company operates through a network of more than 600 licensees and over 500 branded retail stores across North America, Europe, Australia, South America, India, Asia, the Middle East and the UAE. The L/AB initiative fits that model of extending established intellectual property into new formats, channels and consumer segments.

Joey Gabbay, CEO of Bluestar Alliance, said Pacsun’s understanding of how younger consumers engage with fashion and culture made it a natural partner for L/AB c/o Off-White™.

The partnership therefore goes beyond a conventional wholesale arrangement. Pacsun and Bluestar are using the retail environment to create a more participatory brand experience around L/AB, with consumers encouraged to customize products and engage directly with the label’s visual language.

From Off-White™ codes to everyday fashion

L/AB c/o Off-White™ is built around the concept of a “Laboratory of Fun,” positioning fashion as an experimental space for individuality and creativity. Its latest 41-piece collection covers men’s and women’s T-shirts, hoodies, tracksuits, sneakers, outerwear and underwear. Prices range from $45 to $225. The collection draws on familiar Off-White™ signatures, including diagonal stripes and quotation-mark graphics, but applies them to more accessible everyday products.

The partnership was formally activated at Pacsun SoHo in New York on Aug. 13, where Pacsun opened a dedicated L/AB shop-in-shop and hosted an event featuring live DJ entertainment and an interactive screen-printing activation that allowed shoppers to personalize pieces.

The SoHo activation illustrates the commercial strategy behind L/AB: rather than simply placing another Off-White™-related collection on retail shelves, the brand is being introduced through experiences designed to encourage customization, participation and social engagement.

Selective retail rollout

The L/AB c/o Off-White™ collection is now available at select Pacsun stores, including Pacsun SoHo and Pacsun Fashion Island, as well as online. For Pacsun, the deal reinforces its positioning as a platform for emerging brands at the intersection of fashion, music, art and sport. For Bluestar Alliance, it provides another example of how the company is using partnerships and new brand concepts to broaden the commercial reach of its portfolio.

L/AB c/o Off-White™ is expected to continue operating as a creative ecosystem within the Off-White™ universe, with customizable products, collaborations and consumer experiences forming part of its growth model. The strategy reflects a wider shift in fashion brand management: established brand equity is increasingly being extended through younger retail channels, accessible product tiers and experiential partnerships, allowing global fashion names to reach new consumers without relying solely on traditional luxury distribution.
