NEW YORK — J.Crew Group, owner of the American lifestyle brands J.Crew, Madewell, and J.Crew Factory, announced the appointment of Kathleen Van Nest Pierce as President of the J.Crew brand, effective August 4, 2026. In this newly created role, Pierce will report directly to the Group CEO, Libby Wadle.
A seasoned executive with a strong track record in consumer branding, Pierce is tasked with accelerating the brand’s momentum by overseeing merchandising, design, marketing, and retail operations. Her mandate focuses on revitalizing the product pipeline and driving sustainable, long-term growth for the iconic American retailer.
Pierce’s Proven Track Record in Brand Expansion
Pierce joins J.Crew following a highly successful tenure as Global President of Dyson Beauty. During her four-year stint at the company, she was credited with tripling the brand’s technology portfolio and establishing its dominance in the premium beauty device market. Her strategic leadership saw the expansion of the brand into new categories, delivering 27 new products to market in just two years.
Before her time at Dyson, Pierce spent two decades at The Estée Lauder Companies, gaining extensive experience in the American beauty care sector.
Strategic Vision for J.Crew
Libby Wadle, CEO of J.Crew Group, noted that Kathleen is a one-of-a-kind consumer brand leader with a proven ability to deliver outstanding results, build resonant brands, and forge meaningful connections with customers. “Her rare combination of brand vision, operational excellence, and track record of driving global growth is exactly what this moment calls for,” said Wadle.
Expressing enthusiasm for her new role, Pierce noted the brand’s enduring appeal. “J.Crew is one of those rare brands that holds a genuine place in people’s lives—it’s beloved, it’s relevant, and it has extraordinary growth opportunities,” said Pierce. “I look forward to honoring J.Crew’s storied history and creating lasting connections for our customers, our people, and this iconic brand.”
