Jaspal Group, the Bangkok-based fashion conglomerate, is entering a significant new chapter of expansion. With an impressive portfolio of over 25 brands, 5,200 employees, and 900 stores worldwide, the $400 million-plus company has appointed Damien Corcoran as its new CEO to lead its long-term strategic growth.
A Legacy of Evolution
Founded in 1947 by Indian immigrant Jaspal Singh, the company began as a mattress and home linen importer. It successfully transitioned into a textile-driven enterprise, launching its flagship ready-to-wear fashion brand in 1972. Today, the group is managed by third-generation heirs, including Yosathep and Viseth Singhsachathet.
The company’s market presence is defined by a robust mix of homegrown labels and major international franchises:
- In-House Brands: Jaspal, CPS (CPS Chaps), LYN, CC Double O, Lyn Around, Jelly Bunny, Misty Mynx, Royal Ivy Regatta, Quinn, ORI, and C.P.S. Coffee.
- International Brand Portfolio: Fred Perry, Diesel, Superdry, Asics, Melissa, Puma, Marithé + François Girbaud, New Era, Champion, Mango, Camper, Marimekko, Shoebar, and Satur.
Strategic Leadership for the Next Phase
The appointment of Damien Corcoran is viewed as a milestone intended to reinforce the group’s competitive position, drive innovation, and create new opportunities throughout Thailand and the wider Southeast Asian region (including Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Cambodia).
Corcoran brings extensive international retail experience to Thailand, having previously served as Chairman of the Isle of Man Meat Company, CEO of Grandiose Supermarkets and Catering in Dubai, and International VP at Whole Foods Market. Notably, he possesses a strong background in major organizational redesign, having worked at UK fashion giant Sainsbury.
Reflecting on his appointment, Corcoran stated:
“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work alongside the Singhsachathet family, the Board and our Executive Leadership Team as we build on the Group’s remarkable heritage and look towards its next chapter of growth. I look forward to serving our teams, our customers and our brand partners, while continuing to learn from the talented people and rich culture that make Jaspal Group so special.”
Regarding his leadership style, Corcoran has previously noted: “I know what it takes to move when the conventional route isn’t working.” This sentiment is echoed by former colleagues, such as Andrew, who observed: “He can rapidly analyze a situation and is focused when making a decision under pressure. He has the right balance and temperament to work well in a team environment yet command respect as a leader.”
Future Outlook: “Find Your Greatness”
As Jaspal Group scales its operations, it remains guided by its core philosophy—encapsulated in the slogan “Find Your Greatness”—which empowers customers to express their best selves through fashion and lifestyle. With a seasoned leader at the helm and a clear trajectory toward regional expansion, Jaspal Group is poised to leverage its storied heritage to capture new market opportunities.
