PHILADELPHIA – Global lifestyle retailer Free People has officially launched its first-ever collaboration with the alternative surf lifestyle brand, Rusty. This limited-edition capsule collection marks a fusion of Free People’s signature bohemian aesthetic with the authentic, Southern California surf heritage that has defined Rusty since its inception in the late 1980s.
A Heritage-Inspired Collection
Born from the vision of legendary surfboard shaper Rusty Preisendorfer, the Rusty brand was built on the values of creativity, individuality, and resilience. The new collaboration honors this history, offering a 12-piece apparel line that blends 1980s surf nostalgia with modern, adventure-driven style.
The collection features a variety of versatile beach-to-street pieces, including Board Shorts, Activewear & Apparel, and Swim & Accessories, including Paradise Hotel bikini tops and bottoms, and a branded Dad Cap.
Availability and Launch Events
The Free People x Rusty collection is currently available for purchase at Freepeople.com and at select free-est store locations across the United States.
To mark the launch, Free People is hosting special community surf classes in Stone Harbor and Palm Beach, where attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the brand and receive gifted items from the new capsule.
Based in Philadelphia, Free People is a global women’s lifestyle brand offering a unique mix of apparel, intimate wear, footwear, accessories, and wellness products.
The brand maintains a significant global footprint, reaching customers through its international websites, top department stores, and an active presence on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
