TCF POST Report
BENGALURU— Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands Limited (ABLBL) opened fiscal 2027 with another quarter of double-digit growth, with Reebok, Innerwear and American Eagle emerging as key growth contributors within its faster-expanding Emerging Business portfolio.
Consolidated revenue increased 11% year on year to Rs 2,046 crore in Q1 FY27, while EBITDA rose 14% to Rs 327 crore, lifting the EBITDA margin to 16.0% from 15.5%. Profit before tax jumped 39% to Rs 39 crore, while net profit increased 21% to Rs 29 crore, the company reported on August 1.
The quarter marked ABLBL’s third consecutive quarter of double-digit growth, supported by resilient demand across its lifestyle portfolio, positive retail like-for-like growth and strong e-commerce momentum.
Reebok, Innerwear and American Eagle strengthen Emerging Business
ABLBL’s Emerging Business portfolio grew 19% to Rs 332 crore, considerably faster than the core Lifestyle Brands business. EBITDA increased to Rs 14 crore from Rs 5 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded by 240 basis points to 4.3%.
The company said growth was broad-based across Reebok, Innerwear and American Eagle. Retail like-for-like growth for the portfolio reached 11%, e-commerce grew by more than 30%, and the Emerging Business network expanded beyond 400 stores.
However, ABLBL does not disclose separate Q1 revenue or growth percentages for Reebok, Innerwear or American Eagle. The three brands can therefore be identified as key growth contributors, but their individual performances cannot be numerically ranked from the company’s disclosure.
Reebok continued to strengthen its product offering with footwear launches including Multi-Court, FLOAT Premier and Sidewinder 26, alongside apparel such as Comfilux for Women.
American Eagle continued its retail expansion while highlighting product directions including coloured denim, relaxed oxfords and low-rise straight fits. Innerwear also remained an important part of the Emerging Business portfolio.
Core Lifestyle Brands remain the earnings base
While Emerging Business is growing faster, ABLBL’s established Lifestyle Brands continue to provide the company’s main revenue and profit base.
The segment generated Rs 1,725 crore in Q1 revenue, up 10% year on year, while EBITDA increased 12% to Rs 319 crore. Its EBITDA margin improved to 18.5% from 18.1%.
ABLBL’s wider portfolio spans formalwear, casualwear, denim, sportswear, footwear and innerwear, with brands and businesses including Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Reebok, American Eagle, Innerwear and ABGL.
Product initiatives during the quarter included Louis Philippe Golf Lifestyle, Louis Philippe Jeans, Reebok footwear and apparel, American Eagle denim and footwear-related products, and Van Heusen Innerwear.
Across the Lifestyle Brands portfolio, the company also highlighted innovations such as The Infinity Suit, Pigmentum, Permapress SOZO, Crafted Knits, Soft Formal, Astro Lite, SoftSense and Black Orchid, alongside Louis Philippe Jeans’ Echoes of Indus.
E-commerce accelerates fashion sales
E-commerce was ABLBL’s fastest-growing disclosed channel during the quarter. Revenue increased 23% to Rs 286 crore, compared with 10% growth in retail and 5% in wholesale. The Others category increased 18%.
Within Lifestyle Brands, e-commerce revenue grew 20%, while ABLBL’s own e-commerce operation increased by more than 50%.
Retail also remained resilient, supported by positive like-for-like growth and continued double-digit LTL growth from small-town stores. The performance highlights the growing importance of digital channels alongside ABLBL’s extensive physical retail network.
Apparel and footwear remain key product categories
Apparel and footwear continued to feature prominently in ABLBL’s product expansion, particularly through Reebok and American Eagle.
Reebok’s latest launches covered both footwear and apparel, while American Eagle continued to build its denim and casualwear offering. The broader Lifestyle Brands portfolio also continued to introduce new products across multiple apparel categories.
ABLBL, however, does not report Q1 FY27 revenue or growth separately for apparel and footwear. Therefore, the available disclosure does not support a numerical comparison between the two categories; product launches and portfolio expansion provide the clearest indication of activity.
Retail footprint reaches more than 3,360 stores
ABLBL had more than 3,360 brand stores as of June 2026, including more than 560 small-town stores, with a presence across more than 800 cities and towns. Its overall retail footprint reached approximately 5.0 million square feet.
The Lifestyle Brands network exceeded 2,950 stores and approximately 4.5 million square feet, while the Emerging Business portfolio had more than 400 stores.
The expanding footprint gives ABLBL a broad distribution platform as it builds its emerging brands and strengthens its digital business.
Demand remains resilient as cost pressures emerge
ABLBL said demand trends during the quarter remained broadly consistent with previous quarters, with traction across categories and channels. However, occasion-wear consumption was softer than a year earlier, partly because an inauspicious period affected the peak wedding season.
The company said premiumization remained intact, although inflationary pressure was beginning to emerge in raw materials, logistics and wages. These costs could become an important consideration for margins as the fiscal year progresses.
Quick-commerce is also beginning to influence fashion retail. ABLBL noted that rapid-delivery platforms are expanding their fashion capabilities from a low base, particularly for impulse and last-minute purchases.
Growth broadens across brands and channels
ABLBL’s Q1 performance shows a business increasingly balancing its established brands with faster-growing emerging businesses and digital channels.
The key disclosed indicators were 19% growth in Emerging Business revenue, 23% growth in e-commerce revenue, 14% EBITDA growth and 39% growth in profit before tax.
For the apparel and footwear industry, the next challenge will be sustaining this momentum while managing rising raw-material, logistics and wage costs. The performance also underscores the growing role of Reebok, Innerwear and American Eagle in ABLBL’s Emerging Business strategy, even though individual brand financial results remain undisclosed.
Overall, ABLBL’s Q1 results point to a three-part growth model: established Lifestyle Brands provide scale and profitability, Emerging Business provides faster growth, and e-commerce is becoming an increasingly important engine for fashion sales.
