TCF POST Report

TORONTO, Aug. 10, 2026 — Caulfeild Apparel Group, one of Canada’s longest-standing privately owned apparel companies, has launched HANK. , a new premium Canadian menswear brand, opening its first stores in Ontario as it prepares for further retail expansion and a national e-commerce rollout this fall.

“Well made. Well chosen. Well worn.” is the new brand’s defining proposition as HANK. seeks to fill what Caulfeild sees as a growing gap in Canada’s menswear market, combining curated premium apparel, personal guidance and an elevated in-store experience.

HANK.’s flagship at Bayview Village Shopping Centre and a second location at Upper Canada Mall are now open, while a third store at CF Masonville Place is scheduled to open in late summer. More locations are planned, with HANK.’s national e-commerce platform expected to launch in fall 2026.

The launch marks a significant move for Caulfeild Apparel Group from its long-established role in apparel brand ownership, licensing and distribution into a consumer-facing menswear retail concept.

140 Years of Apparel Expertise Behind HANK.

Founded in 1886, Caulfeild Apparel Group has built a longstanding presence in the Canadian apparel industry through brand management, licensing, sourcing, distribution and retail partnerships.

The company works with international brands to develop their North American presence and provides capabilities spanning brand management, design and sourcing, operations, warehousing, order fulfilment and distribution.

Caulfeild also owns and develops its own apparel brands, including Joe Boxer Canada, giving the company experience across multiple stages of the apparel value chain.

That combination of industry expertise and distribution infrastructure provides the foundation for HANK.’s entry into premium menswear retail.

“We’ve spent decades operating in the Canadian menswear market. Over the last ten years, through the loss of retailers and shifts in the industry, we have noticed a growing void in the menswear market,” said Mike Purkis, founder of HANK. and President & CEO of Caulfeild Apparel Group.

“We built HANK. to fill that void, and to serve the Canadian man. Throughout the market, HANK. will execute with a singular purpose, to help men show up with confidence and intention, every day.”

Brick-and-Mortar First, E-Commerce Next

HANK. is taking a physical-retail-first approach before expanding nationally online.

“Men are overwhelmed online and underserved in person. We are intentionally launching with brick-and-mortar first because confidence is built in person, not on a screen,” Purkis said.

The stores feature a mid-century modern aesthetic, vintage furnishings and art-focused interiors, alongside a curated assortment of premium apparel brands and personalized guidance.

The approach is designed to distinguish HANK. from conventional apparel retail while establishing a direct relationship with customers before the national digital rollout.

Canadian Partnerships Add Lifestyle Dimension

HANK. is extending its proposition beyond apparel through partnerships with Canadian companies.

KANTO supplies Canadian-designed audio for HANK. stores, while Vancouver Candle Co. has created an exclusive co-branded candle. HANK. is also partnering with Harmon’s on its Canadian-made non-alcoholic beer offering.

Together, the partnerships support HANK.’s positioning around Canadian craftsmanship, considered products and an experience that goes beyond clothing.

With HANK., Caulfeild Apparel Group is leveraging decades of apparel expertise to create a new direct-to-consumer growth platform in Canadian menswear — combining premium products, physical retail, personalized service and national digital expansion.
