BEE CAVE, Texas — Gatsby’s Clothier, a family-owned luxury menswear retailer in the Hill Country Galleria, has expanded its offerings to include made-to-measure clothing, Lucchese boots, and additional luxury brands.

The store already carries suits, sport coats, tuxedos, casualwear, and accessories from brands including Johnnie-O, Vuori, and Mizzen+Main. With the expansion, customers can now order made-to-measure suits, sport coats, dress shirts, and jeans. The custom pieces are made from Italian fabrics as well as material from mills such as Zegna, Scabal, Gladson, Huddersfield, and Carnet.

The store has also added women’s Vuori activewear, and is now carrying Lucchese boots — a line owner Ryan Claybough says is otherwise hard to find locally.

“We are now one of the very few retailers that carry Lucchese boots,” Claybough said. “We are the only place in town where you can get them.”

Later this year, the store plans to add an outdoor-brand poncho to its lineup.

A Family Business

Gatsby’s Clothier has operated in menswear for more than 40 years, tracing back to a first store opened in San Diego in 1991 before the family relocated to Bee Cave. The company is now owned by Shannon Claybough, with master tailor Nico — who comes from a family of tailors — overseeing custom work.

The store emphasizes personalized service, with staff taking customers’ careers, lifestyles, and specific occasions into account when making recommendations.

“We care a lot about our personal relationships with customers and are almost like friends with our regulars,” Claybough said.

Gatsby’s Clothier said it plans to continue expanding its product line and is considering launching its own in-house clothing brand in the future.
