A delegation from ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) is set for a three-day visit to Bangladesh to reinvigorate this important market.

“Technological upgrading and the transition toward higher value-added production are driving the new Italian industrial mission to Bangladesh,” an ACIMIT statement noted.

Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT, emphasized the importance of this engagement: “The Bangladeshi textile industry views Italian manufacturers as an irreplaceable partner to win the global challenge of quality and efficiency. Our visit aims to support the country’s two industrial engines by offering tailored solutions capable of generating an immediate technological upgrade.”

The mission will split between the country’s two main manufacturing hubs, where Italian manufacturers will meet with the leaders of the local textile supply chain in two strategic stages: July 7 in Dhaka and July 9 in Chittagong.

The visit will feature in-depth technical seminars and targeted B2B meetings between local manufacturers and a delegation of 15 leading Italian companies: Color Service, Corino Macchine, Danti, Durst, L.A.I.P., Lawer, Monti – Mac, MS Printing Solutions, Roj, Pentek, Pinter Caipo, Reggiani Macchine, Salvadè, Tecnorama, and Ugolini.

Market Context and Future Outlook

Asia currently absorbs 40% of Italian textile machinery foreign sales—a total value of 667 million euros. However, according to ACIMIT’s Q1 2026 report, while the domestic Italian market saw an increase in order intake, foreign markets experienced a decline, as was the case in the Bangladesh market.

However, compared with the previous quarter (October–December 2025), total order intake increased by 18%. The orders index for the January–March 2026 period stood at 37.3 points (base year 2021=100). In Italy, the index reached 35.3 points, while in foreign markets it stood at 37.6 points.
