MUMBAI, August 11, 2026 — Madden NYC, the youth-oriented accessible fashion brand from Steve Madden, has entered India in partnership with Reliance Brands Limited (RBL), launching with a women’s footwear collection aimed at the country’s increasingly fashion-conscious young consumers. The brand made its India debut through Steve Madden India and select retail locations, with women’s footwear priced at an accessible ₹5,000–₹7,000.
“The youth-driven extension of Steve Madden arrives in India with a fashion-forward women’s footwear collection inspired by the energy of New York City and designed for those who dress on their own terms,” Reliance Brands said. Sumeet Yadav, Head of RBL, said Indian fashion consumers are increasingly looking for brands that combine global relevance with accessible style, adding that the company expects Madden NYC to resonate with a new generation of consumers across digital and physical retail.
Ian Funk, President of International at Steve Madden, said India has become one of the world’s most exciting fashion markets and that the company is pleased to introduce Madden NYC to consumers seeking accessible, trend-driven style.
Women’s footwear leads India entry
Madden NYC’s India strategy starts with women’s footwear, spanning everyday sneakers, effortless slides, statement heels and elevated essentials. Metallic finishes, woven textures, denim details, animal prints and pops of colour give the collection a trend-driven identity while keeping the products suited to everyday and occasion-led dressing. The positioning reflects a growing opportunity in India’s women’s footwear market, where younger consumers are increasingly seeking a combination of global fashion, versatility and accessible pricing.
Digital-first launch, broader expansion planned
Madden NYC is taking a digital-first approach in India, while its women’s footwear collection is also available at selected retail destinations in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata and other cities.
The August launch represents the first phase of the brand’s India strategy, with new product drops, additional categories and consumer activations planned later this year. Women’s footwear therefore serves as the entry point for a potentially broader Madden NYC proposition in the country.
The launch also builds on Steve Madden’s established Indian retail presence, with 35 exclusive stores across 16 cities, giving the group an existing platform for expanding its consumer reach.
For RBL, the partnership adds another international fashion proposition to a retail network of more than 1,855 doors across India, spanning standalone stores and shop-in-shops.
RBL’s portfolio includes global brands such as Armani Exchange, Balenciaga, Burberry, Coach, Diesel, Emporio Armani, Hugo Boss, Jimmy Choo, Michael Kors, Sandro, Superdry, Tiffany & Co., Tory Burch, Valentino, Versace, Zegna and Steve Madden, among others.
With women’s footwear at the centre of its India debut, Madden NYC is positioning itself at the intersection of international fashion, youth-driven styling and accessible pricing—while RBL provides the digital and physical retail platform for the brand’s planned expansion.
