Canada Goose Impact Report Lists Major Milestones in Apparel Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing

TCF POST Report

TORONTO — Canada Goose has released its FY26 Impact Report, showcasing significant strides in sustainable apparel design and responsible supply chain practices. Marking the completion of its first five-year sustainability strategy, the brand highlighted substantial increases in eco-friendly material usage, supply chain transparency, and circular economy initiatives.

Having achieved a 50% reduction in market-based Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from its FY19 baseline—bolstered by facility electrification and renewable electricity—and securing Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approval for its net-zero goals, Canada Goose is poised to enter its next sustainability chapter.

“We’ve made meaningful progress, from reducing operational emissions and advancing circularity to strengthening responsible sourcing,” said Carrie Baker, President, Brand and Commercial at Canada Goose.

Transforming Apparel and Material Sourcing

Canada Goose has fundamentally shifted how its high-performance garments are sourced and produced, emphasizing environmentally preferred inputs and stringent chemical safety standards:

Preferred Fibres and Materials (PFMs): In FY26, 91% of materials purchased for domestic manufacturing were classified as PFMs, a dramatic rise from just 21% in FY21.

bluesign® Approved Fabrics: The company expanded its use of safer, more responsibly manufactured textiles, with 89% of fabrics receiving bluesign® approval, up from 45% in FY21.

Comprehensive Lifecycle Tracking: Canada Goose completed product life cycle assessments across 100% of global products manufactured in FY26, strengthening its data foundation for future eco-design strategies.

Advancing Circularity and Waste Diversion

The brand’s commitment to longevity and waste reduction reached new operational milestones over the past year:

Zero Landfill Warranty Waste: Canada Goose achieved 100% diversion of post-consumer global warranty waste from landfills in FY26, a major increase from 78% in FY20.

Generations Program: More than 19,000 products were successfully recirculated through Canada Goose Generations, directly extending garment lifespans through authorized resale and repair services.

Strengthening Supplier Partnerships

Ethical labor practices and transparency within the manufacturing ecosystem remain core priorities for the brand’s supply chain evolution:

Social Compliance: 81% of Tier 1 suppliers actively participated in the company’s Social Compliance Program in FY26, nearly doubling participation rates from 46% in FY20.

Scope 3 Visibility: Enhanced primary data collection now accounts for 65% of Scope 3 emissions from global transportation, improving supply chain traceability and carbon accounting.
