British retail giant Marks & Spencer has appointed Jane Robson as its fashion, home, and beauty director of sourcing, quality, and sustainability. She is set to formally join the company in August.
M&S has described her as an “expert in fashion sourcing strategy” with career-long experience in reshaping global sourcing offices.
Robson is joining M&S following her most recent role as chief operating officer at Vogue Sourcing UK. The Manchester-based company operates international offices across China, Turkey, Morocco, India, Bangladesh, Spain, and Australia.
“Jane has been part of an exciting period of growth and transformation for the business, and we wish her every success in her new role,” Vogue Sourcing UK stated in support of her departure.
Robson earlier served as managing director at Next Sourcing Limited in Hong Kong. Her professional footprint spans international markets, having worked across Southern Europe, South Asia, and the Far East, with particularly active involvement in sourcing operations throughout Bangladesh and India.
She also founded and led the luxury women’s label lsabi as CEO between 2012 and 2015, and ran her own global buying and sourcing organization, JRB Fashion, for over 14 years.
In addition to her executive experience, she has held non-executive director and advisory positions with Threadbare, Fanfare Label, the British Fashion Council, and My Wardrobe HQ.
Academically, Robson studied Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge and is an alumnus of The Manchester Metropolitan University Clothing and Footwear Institute from the Hollings Faculty. She was also honored by Manchester Metropolitan University with an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration.
